Building and Renovation
The following projects will enhance University of Chicago Library facilities for faculty, students, and staff. We apologize for the inconvenience that construction will cause users.
Current Projects
- Work continues in the basement and mezzanine level and takes place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.

Upcoming Projects
Regenstein Library
- Construction on the corridor that will connect Mansueto Library to Regenstein Library will begin in December 2009. This work will require closure of the 1st floor Restrooms and an alternate route for entrance to the Special Collections Research Center during construction. Projects to Improve Accessibility for Users with Disabilities
- Installation of handrails on both sides of the ramp to the main entrance
- Provision of compliant room identification signage on the latch side with raised letters and Braille
- Provision of compliant floor identification signs on both jambs at elevator entrances on every floor
- Provision of a barrier under the open stairs to the third floor reading room at areas that are between 27 and 80 inches above the finished floor
