Creating Company Comparison Reports using Mergent Online
1. Go to Mergent Online.
2. To compare companies in industry, begin at the Advanced Search screen and
type the appropriate digits of the SIC or NAIC code in the proper field (if
you are not sure of the SIC or NAIC code, use the SIC or NAIC look-up table,
or look up a company whose name you know in that industry).
3. Hit the “Submit” button to retrieve all companies in this industry
group.
4. At this Search Results page, you can select specific companies or all companies
on the result page (up to 200).
(You may also select individual companies by looking them up by name or ticker
symbol, and clicking on the "Add" icon 
to the left of the company's name.)
5. Once you have selected your group of companies, move your mouse over “Expand”
on the Company Analysis List (in the upper right of your screen) and click on
“Create a Report.”
6. On the Comparison Report Criteria Selection Screen, choose the company that
you would like to compare to others in the group, and select the variables by
adding the criteria.
7. Choose “Create Report” to generate a comparison report.
